A great option for those who want to combine Adventure, Culture and Nature, all in a single tour that takes us on an original Inka Trail, which connects the town of Chinchero , with the Sacred Valley, a road that communicated the house of the Inka Tupac Inka Yupanqui (son of Pachacutec), with the valley area, where the agricultural fields were dedicated to the corn production.

This tour, which allows us to enjoy the peace that nature provides, is combined with a visit to the production centers of “Chicha”  (Andean traditional drink made with corn, also call “beer of the Inkas”), and a short visit to the town of Ollantaytambo , before continuing our train trip, to visit the Inka city of Machupicchu.

(*) If you want to climb the Waynapicchu or Machupicchu Mountain, make your reservation requesting the inclusion of the additional entrance to the Mountain you prefer.

Day 1

8:30 am. We pick you up at your accommodation, to start our bus trip to the town of Chinchero (3,730m). Upon arrival in Chinchero, we will visit a craft production center, where we will learn about the natural dyes used to make traditional textiles (if your trip is scheduled for Sunday, you will have the possibility to visit the traditional market, where agricola products brought from the high Andean fields, the Sacred Valley, and the Amazon jungle). Then we will meet with our guide to receive information about the archaeological site of Chinchero, and after it we will begin our walk along the Inka Trail, heading to the town of Urquillos (2,800m), in the Sacred Valley.

We will enjoy a walk in the middle of vegetation, and an attractive view of the Sacred Valley, until we reach the town of Urquillos after 2:30 hours of walking. In this valley we will find the great Inca agricultural terraces, known for producing the best corn in the world, known as “giant corn”. We will visit the site and then we will transfer in our transport to a traditional house, where they make “chicha”, a drink that has been consumed since the time of the Incas. Here we will know, step by step, how this drink from the Andes is made, which is also called the “beer of the Inkas”. Lunch.

Finally, we are going to visit Ollantaytambo, an ancient town, with buildings from the Inka period, where the local people currently live. After the visit to the town, we go to the station, where we will wait for the train that will take us to Machupicchu.

(*) Optionally, before Ollantaytambo we can visit the Craft Beer Factory of the Sacred Valley.

Day 2

After breakfast, at the time indicated by the guide, you will go to the bus stop to go up to the checkpoint where you will register your entrance and start the guided tour to the Inka city. During the two-hour tour, the guide will give you detailed information about Machupicchu, its history and other information about the Inka culture. Then you will return to the town, and you will have free time to have lunch and visit the place. At the scheduled time for your return, you will approach the station, to board the return train to Ollantaytambo, and then the bus to the city of Cusco.
